Simon’s India Expedition 10k sponsored walk

My name is Simon McKenna and I am aged 12 and in year 8 at Ribblesdale High School.
I am doing a 10k sponsored walk to raise funds for a venture being undertaken by myself with a team from Ribblesdale High School In July 2020 we will be taking part in an expedition to South India for 2 weeks. During the expedition we will be taking on challenges such as trekking through the Western Ghats then travelling on a gruelling 2 day train journey to reach a remote place near Villupuram where we will also spend time contributing to a community/environmental project which aims to help dropout and disabled local children access education. Our expedition has been designed to develop us as young adults, improving key skills such as communication, problem solving and leadership as well as teaching us to travel safely and have an in depth understanding of other cultures.
We are going to be preparing for this expedition for the next 12 months. Part of this preparation includes raising the £2750 each to get us to South India which will be a challenge but our commitment and organisation will allow me to showcase some entrepreneurial spirit! I have had my own personal challenges with disabilities as I suffer from ADHD and so have had my own personal battles so I am excited to be able to be offered this unique opportunity to try and share my experiences by supporting other people with special needs. I work hard to overcome my disability through sport and am currently the North West Minors champion at Boxing. I am currently planning on doing a 10k sponsored walk on the 12th May.
I am writing to ask if you would consider sponsoring me on my walk to help me to achieve my goals. The expedition is an exciting opportunity to be associated with, that really supports what young people in the area are capable of with some determination and a sense of adventure!
