We now have 40 hours of interviews with the Glass Bottom boat drivers, 60 hours of wildlife and underwater footage and all the elements of a fine film. We now need money for the edit, music, narration, final mix and some expensive but wholly necessary helicopter shots. Please help if you can, this will go into our Silver River Museum to educate your children on the wonder in their backyard. We will also have several public venues coming up soon so you can see where your hard earned money went. Good News FAFO has kindly allowed us to have you send larger donations through their 501-C3 so that your donations can be used for tax purposes. Thank you all for all you have done for us already, it is working!!
Most of us have great memories of our youth at Silver Springs. Certainly a part of that was the glass bottom boat ride. Virginia, Oscar and Roosevelt are the last of the boat drivers left from that era. Then there is Leon Cheathom with fifty years of service doing just about every job at the Springs. They have all seen so much and been so helpful to so many. Leon went down river with me a while back and I recorded him with an Iphone and learned much about a river I thought I knew. I think I realized then that these historians of the river deserve better than an Iphone interview.
