Sidney: Water Monitor Needs Surgery

Yesterday Sidney passed away. He was unable to recover from his illness. He was being seen by a great vet that went above and beyond trying to help him, but just couldn’t pull through. My dear, sweet, best friend, Faith Combs needs some help with her pet!! For those of you that know Faith, she has Asian Water Monitor named Sidney. She loves this giant lizard to death, so much that she dedicated a whole room to him in her house for his enclosure. She and her husband literally build it from the ground up. She has an Instagram page dedicated to him ( @monitor_girl and even started a little business (WaterColor Reptiles), all inspiration from her pet Sidney!
Sidney recently became very ill and needs help fast. Keeping a water monitor can be quite an expense and vet bills even more. She doesn't have the extra money to help get Sidney the care he needs. He's been to the vet and they are doing what they can, for the time being. I asked her to write a little note.
From Faith:
Sidney needs help! He went from super healthy and happy to very sick and weak. It began with lack of appetite, then lethargy, now he's unable to lift himself up. His abdomen is bloated and he's taking very large breaths then holding his breath. The vet thought that his organs were misplaced, his left lung was too small and there were concerning "lines" in his rib area. We paid $400 today for his exams and x-rays and we'll be giving saline solutions via syringes four times a day per the vet plus an emergency liquid food to force feed. The vet told me he's in great deal of pain and I need to do something fast. The vet doesn't know at this point if he'll need surgery or if he needs a hospital stay- either way his care will cost thousands, which we definitely don't have.
Y'all know how much I love Sidney. Because of my love for him you all have grown to love him too. Anything helps, I'm grateful you've even taken the time to read this!
