New Technology for my Classroom

I teach third grade in a highly impoverished area of Phoenix. My students are expected to keep up with 21st century skills and technology. However, the most dependable piece of technology in my classroom is one Apple laptop which is ten years old.  It is nearly impossible to allow every student interaction with it on a regular basis. My birthday is quickly approaching. In place of gifts, I am asking for donations to purchase an iPad or iPads which I can use for school and for students. Today, iPads come with a plethora of great educational apps which would have a positive impact on student achievement in my classroom.  These apps on the iPad would be used as centers in my classroom for students to complete independent or group work. The iPad would also expose my students to current technology and allow me to build lessons to teach them how to use technology as it changes rapidly. I appreciate any and all help. I can assure you that my students will as well.
