SHS Schol Bowl Raising Funds for Nationals

The Springfield High School Scholastic Bowl team would love the opportunity to travel to Atlanta, Georgia to compete with other nationally ranked teams at the NAQT HSNCT Tournament over Memorial Day Weekend 2019.
This team had an amazing season, winning conference tournaments, Masonic Sectional tournament, Frostbite Tournament, IHSA Regional and Sectional Tournaments. This team had a great showing at IHSA State Tournament in Peoria, Illinois. A majority of the team members are juniors this year. They are ready to test their metal nationally.
This experience will also help to prepare them for another challenging season for 2019-2020.
Several members of the team also play soccer, baseball, cross country, and track. They perform in local plays, they are essential in school government, and they publish the newspaper and yearbook. These kids are truly well rounded academic athletes, balancing weekend tournaments that often mean traveling 2-3 hours, then competing for 6 hours, with their studies, jobs, families, and friends.
By this point in the school year, funds have been spent. We need to travel from Springfield, Illinois to Atlanta, Georgia. We will need to rent a van to hold us and pay for gas ($1000). Tournament fees at the national level are pricey ($750)! We will need to eat ($1000) and stay at a hotel for 4 days and 3 nights ($2000). Scholastic Bowl is partially funded by the Booster club at SHS. This team won some Masonic Tournaments which also brought in revenue.
