Let’s show Carolyn some love!

In 2009, Carolyn was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through surgery and chemotherapy.   In 2015 she learned that the cancer had returned and underwent surgery again.  In the fall of 2017, Carolyn learned that the cancer had spread to her bones and she began a radiation and weekly chemotherapy treatments.  
     The most recent PET scan showed that the cancer is continuing to affect her bones and liver, which requires a change in her treatment regimen. Carolyn has begun treatment with another chemo with much harsher side effects.  At this point, she will no longer be able to work in patient care and is applying for disability.
     As a single mother of three, a veteran, and a nurse at UIHC, Carolyn has spent her years taking care of other people.  She doesn’t like to ask for help, so we’re asking for her.  We created this fundraising account as a way for people to help support Carolyn with her medical and other associated expenses.  Let’s show Shadetree some love!
