Show & Tell - The Film

Donation protected
Show and Tell is a 12-minute short film, set to release later this year.

About the film, Show & Tell
This film is about a 6 year old Indian boy, who really wants a Barbie Doll for his collection of rugged toys, and his mother, who thinks something might be 'wrong' with him. Based out of a suburban town in the United States of America, this humorous film reflects upon the confined environment our children grow up in and the prejudices we project onto them, coloring their judgement in our favor.

Why:
Films have not only entertained people for over a century, but they have also molded generations together.  It's important to recognize the power a film can have to influence people and to change them, for better or for worse.  Children are our tomorrow, but they our growing up in the shadow of  our past and prejudices, leaving only a little space to become their own person. For true change to happen, it has to start at the very root, in this case, our childhood. This film is my first, independent directorial creation, to make the difference this world would choose to see.

He has been named one of the 101 Stars Behind 100 Years of Advertising.

Producer - Lauren Sowa
Lauren recently produced and directed Midsummer 3.2, an exploration of Shakespeare on screen. She and Tim Eliot founded Form & Pressure to tell stories that inspire and provoke thought, while encouraging diversity and equality on set and on screen. She received her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

What will the funds be used for:
Everything!  Making a film is a collaborative process. Without a talented team of people who bring and put everything together, there really is no film. The funds will help me get these people on board and help the team get everything together. It would also help the marketing of the film, to help it reach as many people as possible.

Timelines:
We shoot the film between 15th of February and 17th of February 2019. The post-production of the film would take place through March and April. However, everybody working on the film needs to be remunerated beforehand. Hence, the window between now and February 15th would be ideal for the donations.

Request:  I would love for all the donors to not be anonymous, as I would truly want to thank you'll personally and in the credits of my film. But again, it's your choice.

Your contribution and partnership would make us the dynamic team that I wish to put together. Even a little would go a long way, for a belief that could make all the difference. I thank everyone in advance for all the help and support you give, but more importantly, here's all the love I have for you <3
