Shorten The Divide on Mental Health

Donation protected
2 guys, 2 bikes, 4,350 km of mountain bike trail trail, 1 MASSIVE Cause.

6 months ago, Geoff Livingston and Cam MacDougall decided to ride the world's longest mountain bike trail in an attempt to send 10 at risk youth through Vancouver's Take A Hike learning program.

Coming from a rough upbringing and struggling with his own mental health complications, Cam was a kid that not many felt would live past 20. Numbing himself with drugs, violence and a criminal lifestyle he dropped out at the age of 15 and spent the next 5 years engaging in criminal violence and constructing a suicidal environment around him that might one day take his own life.

After breaking through the noise and turning his life around, which he attributes to being outdoors and in the mountains, Cam has dedicated his time to helping youth with their mental health complications and help support programs that unearth their true potential.

From FAS to depression, anxiety, ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder... The list goes on, Cam and Geoff want to help.

Both men have raised over $30,000 in equipment and gear, but are still another $30,490 short of their financial goal to make this the most impactful journey they can.

The $30,490 will go to a support car,  additional misc bike equipment not covered by sponsorship, flights home for the boys, marketing and promotions of the ride to raise their $100k for the Take A Hike Foundation , food & occasional lodging and a team of 2 to support the riders logistics in case of forest fire, land slides, wildlife and/or emergency.

The two boys plan on using this ride as a launch pad for a conversation around mental health and the power nature has to help our youth find clarity and unearth what makes their heart sing in life.

The ride will be documented and filmed by Geoff Livingston, and a pitch made to Telus to share it across Canada in hopes of reaching those that need to see it most. Those being our youth in need and the parents that support them.

They need your help, and more importantly the kids of Take A Hike need your help.
