Shorashim Bus 567: Pay It Forward

Over the course of 11 days in June 2018, 42 Americans and 8 Israelis formed a bond that will last a lifetime. During our time together on a Shorashim Birthright trip throughout Israel, our group shared laughs, tears, and memories that brought us together as a family. Our new Israeli friends welcomed us into their lives with unbelievable love, hospitality, and friendship and spirit. It is with their generosity in our hearts that the Americans of Bus 567 decided to perform a mitzvah of our own: pool funding for roundtrip airfare from Israel to the USA for all 8 of the Israelis so that we can reunite and repay their hospitality with our own.

By providing Carmel, Eytan, Guy, Matan, Moriah, Moshe, Omer, and Renita with the opportunity to visit America, we can strengthen our bonds even further and build a lasting bridge between the Jewish communities of Israel and the USA. We believe that they deserve to travel and share in our hospitality without the burden of financial restrictions, just as we were able to do through Taglit Birthright.

We ask that you donate as much as your feel comfortable with in order to help make our promise a reality. If we reach our goal, we will have raised enough funds to cover the roundtrip airfare for each Israeli from Bus 567! If, through your generosity, we exceed our goal, then the excess funds not used for airfare will be donated to a charity or organization chosen by the Israelis. 

Additionally, we are open to suggestions for Jewish organizations that might be interested in connecting with the Israeli group to potentially arrange an event or other form of interaction during their visits to our communities.
