Dear Brother and Sister Firefighters,
Our Brother Firefighter, Shody Henshaw, is in a fierce battle with cancer. He has served the community with SAFD for nineteen years and is a loving father to a sweet thirteen year old daughter, Shoadi Lee. In August of 2013, Shody organized the Brothers In Need fundraiser, collecting thousands of dollars for fellow brothers fighting cancer. It is now time to unite and provide much needed help for him and his family!
In 2015, Shody was diagnosed with late stage colon cancer. Following surgery and chemotherapy, he was in remission. In April of this year, Shody received devastating news. A large, aggressive, and inoperable tumor was found, with few treatment options available. Shody is currently participating in a Phase One Clinical Trial with an experimental drug that can help him and others.
A bank account has been set up to receive funds through Generations Federal Credit Union. We are asking for volunteers to assist in future fundraising endeavors, as well as helping to solicit donations from community businesses, including funds, gifts and prizes for use in auctions.
