A Mother's Love

My heart broke into a million pieces, a million times the day my friend lost custody of her daughters.... My friend confided in me that she has been physically and emotionally abused most of her 11-year marriage. I have known about it for 4 years and tried repeatedly to help her get out of the situation.  I have sat in courtrooms for hours over the last few months. In an abusive relationship, there is no such thing as just walking away. The abuse continues in a public forum via rumours, social media, intentionally drawing out court cases to deplete the victims resources... He granted a protection order for her husband which ordered the custody of their three young daughters be transferred to their father. My friend is a stay at home mom with a 1 year old baby who was ripped from her arms today.  Her sassy six year old screamed and cried uncontrollably as she was driven away from her home.  And her sweet four year old looked on quietly crying with the tears rolling down.  She has depleted her resources to be safe with her children, only to have her three young daughters stripped from her care with 4 hours notice. A child's mother, is their protector, their moral compass and teacher, their key source of love and affection and nurturing, their refuge, their source of faith. Fathers are vital and important as well, but even the best of fathers can not be exactly what a mother is. She is a mother, and as her oldest cried while saying goodbye, "Children need to be with their mothers!" Please Help!  Donate Whatever you can spare to support this mother in need!
