Southampton Animal Shelter Drive

The teens and children of the Hampton Bays Public Library are raising funds to help their furry friends at the Southampton Animal Shelter! Please join them in support of this wonderful no-kill shelter that serves the winged and four-legged critters of eastern Suffolk looking for forever homes.

All funds donated will go directly to shelter improvement projects, including obtaining new furniture for animals and visitors, the development of a new foster animal meet and greet area, and much more!

For the past three years the teen patrons of the Hampton Bays Public Library have raised money for our friend and neighbor, the Southampton Animal Shelter. In 2013 they raised $2,125.00 and in 2014 they raised $3,235.00 in 2014. Last year they managed to raise $3300.00, so this year their goal is $4,000.00!

There are so many reasons why this is a great community project. It creates a sense of pride and accomplishment for our teens when they get to present that big check to the animal shelter. It also gives them a positive goal to actively work towards, and to work towards it together with their peers fosters their sense of community. And of course, the shelter animals themselves will greatly benefit from this fundraising venture.
