My story has more to be written...

Shelly is a wonderful teacher in our community who is fighting a medical battle right now.  Shelly began her teaching career in 2013, and prior to that she worked as a teacher assistant.  Shelly began working at Pumpkin Center Primary teaching second grade last year (2015) in what she herself would describe as her DREAM Job.   A job that perfectly suites her positive nature and loving personality.  She is a tireless advocate for children in her community.  Her husband Scott also serves the community as a Firefighter.  

However, in November of 2015 she began having issues with breathing, blood clots and other abnormalities.  After a very frustrating journey with no results, Shelly's health declined rapidly and she could no longer keep up with the demands of her job.  Eventually, after much time she was referred to Duke Hospital.  

After many tests, the official diagnoses is Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH).   The medication and rehab for this diagnoses comes with a hefty bill.  The process leading to this diagnoses was an extremely difficult time for Shelly due to the communication issues revolving around her test, she has decided to seek a second opinion from the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.  

In efforts to get her to Ohio, help with medical bills that are piling up and supplement her salary due to her inability to work, we are asking for anyone who can to donate any amount to please help.  Every little dollar will help Shelly and her family pay mounting bills and ensure that she gets the best care possible.  

Time is of the essence!  If you can't donate please share the word so that others may.  Scott and Shelly have dedicated their lives to serving our community.  It is time for us to step up and help them through a difficult time.
