Get us to the Shedd Aquarium!

Donation protected
I teach at Hibbard Elementary School in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. Hibbard is full of over 1,100 students Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade. 100% of our school qualifies as "low-income" which causes many issues for fun learning experiences like Field Trips!
I teach 6th grade STEM at Hibbard. In 6th grade, we do a HUGE unit on the History of Earth and how fossils tell us about Earth's History even before humans were alive to record it.
At the Shedd Aquarium, not only do they have extremely old animals that are considered "living fossils" (some that you can even PET!), but they also have an AMAZING 4-D video that takes the students into the life of a scientist digging and telling the story of a Sea Monster whose bones were found.
Fossils are a pretty abstract concept for many of my students, especially the special education population in my classroom. This video shows students how the scientists found the fossil and specific evidence inside the fossil that tells them the story of its life in a very concrete and visual way.
The video is only at the Shedd Aquarium and it costs $2.50 per student. Although the Shedd Aquarium waived the entry fee for our students, they cannot waive the fee for the 4-D movie or the buses.
For the 6th grade class to take buses to the Shedd Aquarium and experience the Sea Monsters 4-D Movie, it will cost us $1,150.
PLEASE help our students afford this AMAZING experience!

Thank you!
