Memorial expenses for Shawn Garcia

As most of you know, Shawn has been in the hospital for a few weeks. On May 2nd, I came home from work to find her passed out and unresponsive. I immediately called 9-1-1 & checked her sugar. Her sugar was 24 and her breathing was shallow. The ambulance took her lights and sirens to Alliance health, here in Durant. We were hopeful that she would wake in a day or 2. As the days passed things began to look worse & worse. Shawn was unable to breathe on her own & was put on life support. After a few days the Dr broke the news that there was extensive brain damage. They were transferring her to Carrus in Sherman, Tx. A long term CCU was available. After she was admitted there her oldest daughter, Cynthia called and asked the nurse to place the phone and Shawn's ear so she could talk to her and let her here her grandson. The nurse told Cynthia that Shawn moved her hand. We were hopeful and excited she was responding. Later we were advised that her brain activity was showing minimal and this was likely a nerve rather than a response. I have had to travel back and forth and the expenses are adding up. We have been advised that there extensive brain damage to the brain stem and frontal lobe. Shawn will not be waking up. Her daughter, Cynthia and cousin Joe will be making a trip out here in the next few days to sign consent to shut down the machines. We are all devastated. Travel costs are expensive and we will now need to plan for Memorial services. I will now be a single Dad with 1 income. I'm asking for my friends & family to donate to help cover the expenses to lay Shawn to rest. If you cannot donate please keep us in prayer. Leah, Cynthia & my children are heart broken and finding the strength to get up is a struggle.
