Shawn Decrevel and family

As many of you know, my brother, Shawn Decrevel was in a car accident this weekend.  It happened sometime early Sunday morning, April 7th.  It was a foggy morning and as he was approaching the curve on Lakeshore Road near Bordages, something ran out in front of him.  He swerved to miss it and then suddenly lost control of his truck causing it to flip.  He told me he remembers it flipping then he must've passed out.  Once he came to, he was able to pull himself out of the truck and somehow flag down a good samaratin who then called 911 and his wife.  He was transferred to Hancock Medical Center by ambulance and once treated and stabilized, he was then transferred by ambulance to UMC in New Orleans.  He has been in their trauma ICU since Sunday evening because they are having to have numerous CT scans due to the trauma caused to his body from the accident. His collarbone is broken, he has 2 broken ribs and a grade 3 spleen laceration, fractured hip and pneumonia.  He will not need surgery per the doctors at UMC.  By the grace of God, my brother is ALIVE!  God spared him for a reason and I can't wait for him to make a full recovery.  He does not have medical insurance and had only Liability coverage on his truck.  As of now, we've been told he will be out of work for quiet some time while he recovers (we were told a minimum of 6 months).  He is married to his beautiful wife Kristen and they have 2 two precious young children, Kyleigh and Kacen.  If you can keep him and his family in prayer and in any other way, we really appreciate it.  From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank all of our family and friends who have reached out to us during this time.  We seriously feel the love, care and concern.  We are definitely counting our blessings.
