As you all know, Sharon was given 6 weeks to live 18 months ago. She has fought cancer on every front like a warrior. 18 months after the initial diagnosis of my mom, she is still working 30 hour weeks at her desk, taking medications, attempting to stay healthy, visiting various doctors, and keeping a smile on her face as a walking miracle. It’s taken a toll on her body. The thing is, now her oncologist wants her to go through chemotherapy, which would have killed her last January before her 6-week prognosis. Exhaustion and pain keep her awake at night and tired during the day. She is anemic again despite blood infusions, and it’s nearly impossible to keep her on a diet that is both healthy and helps her gain weight. The next step is to achieve the goal Mom has had for a long while but never decided to pursue because of the cost—the Sanoviv clinic in Mexico. With aggressive and holistic treatments that are unavailable in the US, Sanoviv has a program to rebuild Mom and give her a future. However, that future costs $30,000, which is the same price as chemotherapy. The past year of medical bills, a college student, and regular life has left us searching for the money on trees. The donations here would be used to send my mom to the clinic in Mexico where she can taste the life we want her to have. She has come so far and I can’t stand the thought of not being able to give her this chance. The support from our family and friends means more than I could ever convey.
