Sharon Middleton Stroke Rehabilitation Fund

On October 23rd, my mom, Sharon Middleton, suffered a major stroke. Given a less than 30% chance of surviving the stroke she made it past that critical stage.
The swelling of the brain stabilized; however, there is severe paralysis on her left side. She was able to leave ICU, but her sodium level became so low it was necessary to move her back to ICU. She responded to the sodium treatment, and her sodium level is slowly approaching a normal level.
Sharon's condition has improved to point that she is now ready to begin physical and occupational therapy. Unfortunately, her insurance coverage has been depleted. She will require one to two months of intense therapy to regain use of her left side.
We have done extensive research into different financial assistance programs, which unfortunately, were not able to accept her, as well as different treatment centers, and have decided on The Rehabilitation & Wellness Centre of Dallas as the most cost-effective option for her condition.
Her stay in a treatment center with daily physical therapy in the center will cost over $6,000 per week out of pocket. As you can imagine, the bills will add up quickly, and we are unable to pay all of them on our own. We (her immediate family) are all contributing money to assist with initial medical bills to get the process started with a rehab center, but without insurance coverage, we are expecting tens of thousands of dollars worth of bills for a room in a treatment center, physical therapy, medication, and eventually a bed/wheelchair for when she is able to return home.
While this has been a very difficult time for our family, we are incredibly grateful for the love and support we have gotten from everyone who has been aware of the situation.
