Message from Colin- To everybody who is reading this...from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support and kind words. I appreciate each of you more than you know. So here's the latest.... So the MRI's and scans have been completed and it's looking like surgery will be either tomorrow night or Saturday. The surgeon believes her tumor is Gliovlastoma (malignant), and it's large, and it's in a very bad location and the list goes on. They can't remove it because of the above and because it's too much risk and not enough reward. By performing an invasive surgery, many things can go wrong such as losing the abilities to speak, move, etc. So the two options i am left with are not much better, but are less of a risk. They can biopsy the tumor and hope that chemotherapy slows the growth or they can "debulk" the tumor by removing a portion which will reduce the pressure and hopefully help her feel better faster. Unfortunately, by "debulking", he risk of unexpected complications increases from 5% chance to 10%-15%. There are no guarantees either way, so I am forced to decide what to do. Ultimately, I am being told that the chemo will only slow down the growth of the cancer, but it will not stop it from growing, and inevitably....i'll stop right there. I am a complete loss. Don't know what to say or do. But I DO believe in miracles and that anything is possible with God on our side! Please so not stop praying. Shar and I won't stop fighting no matter what the odds are.
