Who wouldn't want fresh-baked cookies in their hands, still warm from the oven, wherever they are in the Stockton Metro Area?
SugaRushd delivers warm cookies, brownies, and other pastries within minutes. It's just like pizza, but a box of fresh, warm cookies instead. We use only organic ingredients, have vegan and gluten-sensitive options, and we're available for catering and fundraisers.
We urgently need your help now in order to continue spreading the love so everyone gets a taste of SugaRushd treats. We've got a great thing going so far - all it takes is one bite to bring new meaning to the phrase "Treat Yo'self"!
The concept of warm cookie delivery is new to the city and county; SugaRushd is the first to provide a product currently available only in major cities. In Stockton, unless a third-party application is utilized, the only freshly-prepared food items available for delivery are the usual pizza and Chinese food.
Our goal is to acquire a storefront to operate out of and offer the option to pick-up orders or just stop by for a quick fresh cookie-brownie-pastry break (basically a SugaRushd headquarters). We are seeking $50,000 to make this happen and have already found several potential prime locations within the Stockton city limits. Once our location is acquired, we can fill it with ovens, set up the shop, and launch a larger marketing campaign.

My husband and I are high school sweethearts with 5 amazing children. I was born and raised in Stockton and he moved up to Stockton at a young age. Over the course of 20 years, with little to no outside financial support, and just enough revenue to survive, we've owned and/or operated a record store, a non-profit community organization, a record label, a banquet hall, a BBQ restaurant, a video production service, and a delivery service. We've worked for/with large brands, obscure brands, and independent companies. We've created innovative products way before their time and have started out with ideas that appeared years later on a massive scale.
We've donated our time and skills to help build community organizations and help others toward achieving their dreams; we continue to do so, encouraging our children to do the same. So far, it has rubbed off with our oldest daughter currently holding a Chairwoman position with a great Stockton community organization.
I left Stockton in 1997 to attend the University of Southern California, seek adventure, and discover opportunity, then returned in 2013 with a family and a different frame of mind. While I was away, it seemed like the city took a turn for the worst - bankruptcy, record-breaking crime incidents, and making headlines as the ‘Most Miserable City in America’. Complete revitalization of Stockton has been underway since I’ve come home and so many positive changes are happening that to ignore the available opportunities would be a disservice to the community.
Although all business owners face challenges when first starting out, we've experienced failed partnerships, theft, rejection, and situations that not all business owners have faced. All those experiences made us wiser and motivated us to become better business owners, knowing that funding is everything to have a successful startup.
It Starts With Just A Cookie
Even though it's as simple a thing as cookies, quality is our utmost priority. Whereas warm cookie delivery businesses in other cities focus on the convenience of having fresh-baked cookies delivered throughout the late night hours, our main focus is providing an extraordinary product that can only be found in Stockton. Stockton deserves the best and it would bring us great pleasure to provide amazing cookies, brownies, and more made with pure ingredients by a Chef that takes pride in the quality of his work. At this point in time, the bulk of our sales have been repeat customers - all it takes is one bite to be hooked!
It took leaving Stockton to start really appreciating it. Now I love Stockton so much that I became a Certified Tourism Ambassador. Simply put, it is my duty to promote everything positive about Stockton so that visitors return and let others know how awesome our city is. A successful SugaRushd benefits all of us: we'll be able to hire kitchen staff and delivery drivers, help local schools with their fundraising efforts, train employees interested in increasing their own skills as a baker, pastry chef, or business owner, promote other businesses and places in town that draw visitors, partner with other businesses for mutual benefit, and compensate our employees more than a major brand corporation would. A successful SugaRushd shows others that may be in a similar situation that all the failures you might experience helps lead you closer to success as long as you don't give up.
Major progress is being made in our fine town and we want to help keep it going. Stockton is ripe for new ideas, new businesses, and new solutions to old problems. We feel a sense of the right people coming together to change things for the better for everyone. If we combine Stockton's momentum with our knowledge, skills, determination, and motivation, we can only go up from here. We already have everything we need to succeed: a solid business plan, a marketing plan, financial projections, talent, a unique product, and no direct competitors. The only thing needed to take SugaRushd to the next level is funding to make it all happen on a larger scale.

-Negative market response
If our marketing campaign fails to pique the interest of Stockton Metro area residents, we risk revenue growth. Possible solutions include reducing labor hours and other associated costs and complete revamping of our marketing strategy.
-Timing
A minimum of $10,000 is needed within 30 days to secure SugaRushd's future. We have bootstrapped our way up to this point and are in desperate need of funding in order to keep operating. We've applied to, connected with, and have been active with many venture capitalist groups, angel investors, and startup accelerator programs. We will continue to research, seek, and identify potential investors interested in our industry.

Even with the perfect spot in mind in terms of visibility and accessibility, we may face obstacles with securing a property. Should unforeseen challenges arise, we are properly licensed by the county to prepare foods in our home kitchen.
