School Club Travel Costa Rica

I am helping 15 students raise money to travel to Costa Rica. My students live in an urban setting and attend a large high school. Our student body is 70% Hispanic and 95% of them receive free or reduced lunch. We are designated a Title I school, and the trip will be funded through donations and fundraising.

Our students have a variety of interest but this group is a part of the Outdoor Club. They have been learning a mixture of skills but focusing on stewardship and humanitarian efforts. This trip will support these goals through working with schoolchildren in Costa Rica and contributing to deforestation projects by planting trees.

Many of them have never left the city and taking them on outdoor excursions can be scary but exiting for them.

The trip is 9 days long and includes airfare, lodging, food, and all activities.

Some of the activities in addition to the community service include; learning about Costa Rica's natural habitat while zipping lining through the canopy, folklore with food and festivities, beach day, and horseback riding. They can also take surfing lesson if they want!

The trip cost $2,531 per student. This gofundme is to help students make the first payment.
