Sherrie's Recovery Network
"God saved me... But it is your love, kindness, prayers and generous hearts that is healing me. Your gift is what will keep me afloat. I will never allow what has happened to me, change me. I will continue to live, laugh, and love with all of you for many years. A million heartfelt thanks <3 Sherrie"
All of her stitches are out and she is so relieved! After seeing a picture of her back, my moms response was "Well, I guess I don't have the perfect bikini body anymore!" Now that's the lady I know! :]
This has been a hectic week! My mom is finally back at home and loving every second of it. She is still so overwhelmed by the love and support of friends, family, and even complete strangers. She can not get over how many people have helped by doing whatever they can. Whether it was a prayer, a home cooked meal brought to her home, a visit, or any encouragement. She says she would never have been able to make it to this point without all of you!
Throughout this process, there were 50 staples used in her back to patch everything up. And she couldn't be happier that all 50 are coming out on Monday! She's counting the days until she can hop right back on her beach cruiser!
Again, thank you for all your love and support!
Today my mom made not one, but TWO laps walking around the ICU. She has also had one of her chest tubes removed and is hopeful the next tube will be out sometime soon. The progress she is making amazes me everyday. My mom appreciates all the visitors she has had these past few days. You all lift her spirits tremendously!
As much as she loves seeing all the friendly faces, the doctors recommend she has a rest day. If you would like to visit, it would be appreciated to wait a few days before you do. Resting is such an important part of her recovery and we want her to make as much progress as possible!
Thank you again for all your support!
