My name is Chris Meachum former Officer Meachum of the Brighton Police Department. I’m asking assistance to help fund Sergeant Waters, a friend, brother, father, husband and community service member. Officer Waters has spent over 20 years protecting the city of Brighton, risking his life day in and day out protecting others. He leaves his house daily to the unknown if he will even return to his loved ones. Sergeant Waters whole life has been focused on assisting and seeking aid for others in a time of need. It is now Sergeant Waters who is need, here is his story.
Keenan is a family man through and through. He recently married the love of his life, Amanda Waters. They have 4 boys. Austin - 13, Joshua - 12, Malachi - 5, Isaiah - 4. Little did they know that their vows would be put to the test so soon. “In sickness and in health.”
Sergeant Waters was diagnosed with cancer almost one month to the day after he married Amanda. From December 1st, it’s been a whirlwind of appointments, blood draws, chemo teach class, port placement, etc. Meanwhile, his wife was still working at Children’s Hospital Colorado as a Respiratory Therapist.
He was recently hospitalized for 4 days following a fever of 105.8 and Neutropenia. His wife has had to take personal leave from work “unpaid”, to be with Keenan and take care of their 4 boys.
As you know cancer treatment is not cheap, Sergeant Waters is currently on short term leave from the Brighton Police Department for only 3 months. I want Sergeant Waters to focus on one thing and one thing only, getting better.
Sergeant Waters has enough going on and does not need to worry about finances and how he will support his family, any contribution would be much appreciated. Thank you for the continued support and prayers for Sergeant Waters and his beloveded family.
