Service Dog For Nathan
Donation protected
For those of you who don't know Nathan he's is my 8 year old son. He was born with Down Syndrome and a congenital heart defect. We have been very lucky that he has been blessed with stable health since his heart surgery . The problem we face now is one of Nathan's safety. Nathan is a very independent, strong willed 8 year old boy. I am so proud of that, but he has some developmental issues and delays which means he doesn't have the normal impulse control or safety awareness that he should, and he likes to run. We have had a few episodes at school and one at Sam's with me where he almost ran into the parking lot. After discussing it with his therapist it has lead us to this. A service dog can be my second set of eyes and ears and hands. It can afford Nathan a degree of freedom he can't have right now because it's not safe for him to be left alone even for a few minutes to play out side like a normal 8 year old boy should be able to do. It will give us piece of mind while he's at school, as he has ran from the class room a few times as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.
