As some of you know, I've been running retreats in Greece for 7 years - but now it's time for our own Irish home!
My intention is to buy an 8 bedroomed house (I've found it already) and to turn it into a retreat centre for meditation, mindfulness, silence, singing, dancing, art, creativity and joy!
The house is a third of a mile from the beach and the West Coast of Ireland is the perfect place to wander and to allow the waves to soothe and to settle your mind. There is some beautiful walking to be had (we're near the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren as well as being on the Wild Atlantic Way). It's a beautifully magical place and I really want to make it a home, not just for me, but for all of you who need some time to rest and be in nature and with like-minded people.
I'll aim to offer subsidised places each year and to offer the meditation/yoga room to the local community. I want this to be a home, a haven and a refuge as well as a retreat. I would love people to know that they can come at any time and settle into the beauty of the place.
It's really hard to get a mortgage in Ireland so I need to raise a mahoosive deposit. I'm halfway there but would like some help!
As I haven't actually bought the house yet, I can't really offer rewards but my intention would be to offer discounted rates to all those donating over £100. I'd love to offer the house for Christmas or New Year to those donating over £1,500 but I can't guarantee that as I might not get the house!
Should I not succeed in buying this house, I will very happily return any money that's donated - there's a very handy 'refund' button :)
