Our vision is to establish an academic and therapeutic center with specialized education and therapeutic services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder so they can function as valued, participating members of their community.
Sense-Ability, Inc. is a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) that works with autistic children and adults. The school will open in September 2017 and will be a year round school for Kindergarten through 8th grade. This will be the first autistic school in Montana.
Our goal is to provide opportunities to those individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to develop skills for everyday living that will result in a richer, more fulfilling life.
In addition to traditional therapies, we offer life skills classes and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP.) Research in EFP has shown positive results for children with ASD in improved directed attention, sensory integration, self-regulation, and self-esteem.
Life Skills classes teach clients about self-care, personal finances, nutrition, meal preparation, and interpersonal communication.
Our therapists utilize the philosophy of the American Institute of Sensory Ladder Education (AISLE.) This is a neuropsychologically based multi-sensory teaching and therapeutic technique. This is a key to children having success in a life of happiness.
The Vision of Sense-Ability School is:
-Work together with parents and families for the best outcome
-Core Curriculum Standards
-Special Education Teachers
-Applied Behavior Analysist, BCBA
-Educational Support Staff
-Therapeutic Support Staff
-Enrollment for 1-3 years until the student is able to transition and maintain success in public school.
This campaign is to provide funding for school expenses such as textbooks, sensory learning tools, and other equipment/supplies to enhance their Life Skills.
DONATIONS, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND SPONSORS
We would like to also provide an opportunity if you are interested in sponsoring a specific event, student or subject such as Life Skills, Music, Art, Woodworking and/or the Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy learning opportunities. The frequency can be identified (monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.) and the name of the student or event can be specified by emailing or writing to Sense-Ability this information.
This campaign is to assist families, parents, guardians, etc., to pay for textbooks, sensory tools, and other equipment/supplies required for students to be able to learn, such as the cost for the Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. Also, to support various staff such as teachers, therapists, and behavioral assessments.
