In September 2016, we were THRILLED to purchase (2) wireless microphones for our ministry ... due to a good many of you (our friends) who gave through a GoFundMe campaign. We've enjoyed using these microphones ever since!
In April 2018, the FCC will be taking the frequency on which our microphones reside. This means we will no longer be able to use them and, if we would try and be caught, each piece per each usage would result in a $10,000 fine! Since a pair microphones don't cost $20,000 (and we're also supposed to obey the laws of our land), we have begun the search for a new wireless microphone system.
Today, Brenda and I met to "test" a few brands that we had researched online. Our goal was to be ready to purchase by March 2018 (as we have only 2 more concerts this week before our winter break) ... unless, we were simply blown away by something we tested.
WELL ... we were BLOWN AWAY when we tested the Sennheiser D1 "Digital" Wireless Microphone System! What's so cool about this system is that it's a 2.4GHZ frequency (like your home wireless phones) and will not be affected when the FCC continues to take away more and more frequencies in coming years.
