Send Sarah to Dominican Republic!

I will be going to the Dominican Repuplic from July 20-August 3. I will be volunteering at the local public hospital serving not only the women of the DR, but Haitian woman who cross the border to have their babies in better conditions. Sadly, the conditions and the treatment all the women receive at the hospital is poor. They are made to deliver in a room with 10 other beds, sometimes two to a cot. They deliver in their street clothes, on a plastic bed, without food or water, with no loved one at their side. They are then separated from their babies for up to 24 hours. Both mothers and babies are often treated quite inhumanely.

The team I'm working with will working in round the clock shifts to bring love and comfort to these women and babies. We will also bring donated items to bless them with - sheets, soap, underwear, pads, and a toothbrush. Baby will receive a onesie, socks, a receiving blanket and a few diapers. The mamas and babies have nothing unless their families bring things for them. I will be checking in extra suitcases for donated items. 

In order to do this, I need your help! There's no way I can afford this on my own, please consider donating, even the smallest amount! 

Monies raised will pay for my plane ticket, lodging & food. Anything extra will be used to purchase items for donation to the families I will serve.
