Hi! I am Noah Burton, a second-year Psychobiology student at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA). I am currently on a Pre-Pharmacy track to get into the healthcare field in the future. Throughout my time in school, I will be taking a great amount of classes centered around life sciences. One of these series of classes is the Physics for Life Sciences, which I have to take to complete my major prerequisites. That is where studying abroad comes in!
I am studying abroad in Sussex, England to fulfill my Physics requirements by participating in their rigorous 8-week Summer program . While at the University of Sussex, I will be taking physics classes covering topics from wave motion to biological applications of physics. Another requirement for this program is partaking in laboratory experiments and data analysis. The classes will be covering a lot of challenging material, but I am up for the challenge!
A donation to my cause will be used for the expenses in Sussex. Besides the program fees, there are additional fees that include room and board, transportation, and books and so the funds from this crowdfunding will go towards paying for I will be living in a university dorm room that requires me to cook my own food; so grocery and transportation funds are important. Any and all help is wonderful!
I am fundraising now to prepare for the trip that will start in late June and end early August. There is no time like now to fundraise so I am getting on it as soon as possible!
Studying abroad means a lot to me for various reasons. As someone in college, studying abroad allows me to experience other countries and cultures without taking a break in my education. In college, traveling is easier through study abroad programs and is most affordable during this time. In a career setting, experience in other countries puts me above other candidates. In general, this trip will give me great memories to talk about in the future with anyone I come across!
Getting to study abroad will change my world. I will never stop talking about it, because it would mean so much to me. This would be my first time going to a country across the world and an experience that not many take or have the chance to take. I would thank any and all that support me by studying hard, enjoying my time there, and bringing back a ton of souvenirs. Again, any and all help is appreciated and will go to a great cause towards continuing my education through a great experience! Thank you in advance!
