Sending Hector to NYC

On November 9th-11th, I will be attending ENGAGE in New York City, a DECA career development conference and case study competition. If you do not already know, after high school, I left Hawai’i to attend college in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am a current business student, pursuing a career in Marketing. I have made tremendous strides to acquire the knowledge to navigate my way through my intended career path. This includes maintaining good grades, building relationships with professors, completing an internship with one of the BIG4 accounting firms, and involving myself around my campus.

DECA is collegiate professional development program with different academies that allow qualified students to gain insights to launch their future careers. These academies are Finance and Accounting, Hospitality and Tourism, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and lastly, Management. I compete in the Marketing Academy and I engage in a case studies where I have to create advertising campaigns given specific contraints.  I am hoping to go to ENGAGE, and challenge myself within the Marketing academy.
