Help get Dena to Worlds!

Ultimate has given me so much; countless friendships, lasting connections to youth players, an outlet to play and compete, and an amazing excuse to travel to incredible tournaments around America. Recently I applied, tried out, and made USA Ultimate's Women's National Team! Yippieeee!!! The tryouts were grueling; everyone was so, immensely talented. My favorite part was meeting and befriending so many wonderful people that usually are considered my adversaries. The days were filled with love, laughter, and about a million high-fives! To anyone considering trying out for a National team in the future, I HIGHLY recommend it!

Glamour shots!

I am incredibly excited to travel to London in June and represent USA (and Indiana, Colorado, Lakewood, Molly Brown and PODO). Our player packs say that the costs will be in the thousands; while USAU pays for our uniforms, I must foot the bill for airfare to multiple team training weekends throughout the US, tournament player fees, room and board, transportation to and around London, and food. See below for a break-down, but it's gonna be a pretty costly next few months!

I am extremely grateful for all of the support, love, and help you all have given me throughout my career. This journey truly began when I started playing ultimate my freshman year at IU. To all the youth players out there, know that when I was a young Calamity Jane, I was absolutely terrible!! But I kept with it, worked hard, and stayed focused on my goals to get where I am today.

Making the National team has been a dream of mine since I started playing competitive club for Chicago Nemesis. This means the world to me ;) and I could not have accomplished it without the encouragement and advocacy of everyone I've ever played with. I've been playing this sport for 11 years, in local leagues in Bloomington, Indianapolis and Denver, as well as various club teams throughout the States. I've spent a few years coaching Lakewood High School's ultimate program, and the rewards have been greater than I can express. I've got so much love for each and every team and teammate I've ever played with. State Fair, Sauce, Nemesis, Bucket, and Molly Brown were all phenomenal experiences, and I am so thrilled to be a part of Team USA!
