LET’S MAKE THIS FAMILY DREAM A REALITY
Marcus Cunningham is a 54-year-old Episcopal priest, father and husband who was diagnosed with stage 4 tongue, throat and lymph node cancer in the early Spring of 2017. His diagnosis was a shock to his family and his faith community in Ripon, Wisconsin and Lourdes Academy (where his wife teaches and children attend). Marcus has been blessed with prayers by so many people. He is humbled by the outpouring of love and grace. His treatment consisted of radiation and chemotherapy. This past October, further testing found a need for surgery to remove 16 lymph nodes. Hopes were high after the surgery that Marcus had beat the cancer. After Thanksgiving, Marcus went to his ENT due to a sinus infection. The ENT was concerned when he noticed a new lump under Marcus’ tongue. The lump wasn’t there two weeks before. This is a very aggressive cancer. Marcus had surgery on January 8th to remove a portion of his tongue and more lymph nodes. The surgery resulted in a reconstruction of his tongue.
Recently the family visited Madison and learned some unfortunate news. Marcus' cancer has returned, and time with his family will be quite limited. His family wants to cherish these precious moments.
The family has always dreamed of visiting Hawaii. As a Lourdes family we need to help this dream become a reality.
Help us send the Cunningham’s, a faith filled family of 7, on a once in a lifetime trip to make memories and enjoy this time together.
Because of the severity of the diagnosis, we need to act quickly. Please consider giving what you can. This family is so deserving of feeling some love.
There will also be a carwash at the Lourdes Academy High School/Middle School circle drive on June 2 from 12-4. Come get your car washed and enjoy a hot dog, while helping support the Cunningham family's dream.
Amy Geffers will be coordinating and paying for travel arrangements by depositing the GoFundMe funds into her personal account and then paying the travel agency, she will be delivering the tickets directly to Anne-Marie Cunningham(wife of Marcus Cunningham). Amy Geffers is the principal at Lourdes Academy Elementary, Anne- Marie Cunningham is a teacher at Lourdes Academy Elementary.
