Help Tamieka attend BADA in Oxford this summer

Donation protected
GAH!!! It is with heart-filled gratitude that I announce that I've been accepted into the British American Drama Academy's Midsummer in Oxford UK program this summer!! I am truly honored and blessed to have been given this opportunity.  My passion for acting… for storytelling is INFINITE!! However, as stated in my video, my funds for continuing my education is not! Although I've been awarded a scholarship, it doesn't cover all of the expenses necessary to attend (tuition, accommodations, airfare). With your help, I will be able to study abroad in this four week long acting intensive, learning and focusing on British acting techniques with an emphasis on Shakespeare ❤

My artist statement:

“There is a truth that connects us all as humans and it’s a beautiful thing to discover those truths within the characters I play. These discoveries allow me to build and bridge a connection between myself and my audiences as we share an unspoken permission to dive deep and explore our inner selves. Through my work, on stage and screen, it is my hope to make these kinds of connections with as many people as possible. The more exposed and vulnerable I am in embodying a character, the more my audience feels comfortable in seeking out their own truths and inner lives.” ~Tamieka

I truly appreciate any amount donated to me. The cost breakdown for the BADA Midsummer in Oxford, UK program 2019:

Tuition: $3,960 (Due: April 30, 2019)

Accommodation: $2,990 (Due: May 15, 2019)

Airfare: $675 (I've found that getting two one-way tickets was less expensive than roundtrip… already bought my ticket to London. I just need to get back home!)

Less Scholarship: $1980

Total Fees: $5,645

It's been my dream to attend BADA ever since I heard about them several years ago! The more experience I gain as an actor, the more confident I become in taking broader leaps of faith towards living my passion. And this year has been the year of big leaps! One of them was to audition for BADA to attend their Midsummer in Oxford program. Auditioning for them would mean I had to give my all, laying everything out because I knew just how much of a game changer this level of training would be for me as an actor and for my career... my adrenaline was still pumping when I walked out of the audition room! A few days later, I received an email. My heart was in my throat as I opened it. Let me tell you, when I read “...pleased to inform you…”, I screamed! I cried. I gave thanks. I screamed some more lol

When my daughters were younger, they would always ask me what they should do or be when they grew up. My answer was always the same, “Do what you love… whatever it is that you love to do, do that.” Over the past few years I've finally taken my own advice. I also know I can't do it alone because in order to make this dream of attending BADA a reality, I need your help. A donation of any kind is most appreciated. If you've read this far, thank you. If you've skipped everything and have only read this much, thank you. If you're able to donate, thank you. I am truly truly grateful. If funds are tight and all you can do is share this, I'd be most grateful for that as well.

Thank you so much for your consideration!
