Hi! I’m Santiago Gutiérrez Rebolloso. I’m 18 years old and I’m from Mexico. I was recently accepted into A Cappella Academy 2018.
A Cappella Academy is an intensive program, where young singers from around the world, reunite to learn and make music leaded by some of the most amazing singers and arrangers. I’m one of the lucky 70 to be accepted out of hundreds of auditions. Also, I will be the first mexican to attend!!
Since I was Little I’ve been very involved in music. Both of my parents are traditional musicians. They play Son Jarocho (Veracruz music) and I sing and play with them. For as long as I can remember, singing has been really special for me, and my love and passion for it, grows every day. Two years ago I started to study jazz at a local school. Now I know (if I had any doubt before) that this is what I wanna do for life. Next year I will be entering to music college.
I look forward to grow as a musician and as a person, and A Cappella Academy seems like an awesome opportunity to do it. I’m very excited to go there, get more into A Cappella music and learn new skills. Also, the community and enviroment that’s created there is so charming from what I’ve seen. It will be lovely to meet all of the amazingly talented folks that got in, and to learn from everyone there.
I’m doing this fundraiser, cause my family is not able to pay for the tuition and other costs. Full tuition is $1,995 dollars and since we live in Mexico the currency exchange makes it harder for us.
I really hope I can achieve it with YOUR HELP.
