Send our students to Big Bang STL

Every year, Big Picture Learning gathers 500 educators and students from around the world for a weeklong conference on student centered learning.  I have the privelege of being responsible for the student experience at our conference.  That means I get to host the pool and pizza parties, but I also get to witness the magic firsthand when young people come to a new place and build deep relationships with other students who are nothing and everything like them.

Last year, through the genoristy of some philanthropic foundations, we fundraised enough money to host 50 students from all over the country.  This year we hope to have even more students at Big Bang in St. Louis http://www.bigpicture.org/apps/pages/bigbang.  

My dream is that part of that goal can be accomplished through contributions from individuals.  I know many of you had the opportunity to travel as a young person, whether it be a school trip, a family vacation, or even a study abroad semester.  Our BPL students yearn for those life-changing experiences too!

Student applications for Big Bang 2017 open this week and we hope to award scholarships by mid-May, so please consider making your contribution before May 15, 2017.
