Send Ally to National Fine Arts Festival/Orlando

Since June of 2018, we have been attending First Assembly of God Church, where Ally has been learning sign language through her youth group and Youth Pastor Nancy Caskey.
On March 8th&9th, Ally competed for the first time in the North Texas Fine Arts Festival hosted by Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX.
Ally competed in the American Sign Language Solo event where she performed the song “Reckless Love” by Caleb Culver, Cory Asbury and Ran Jackson in sign language with full introduction of her name, name of the song and song writers.
She placed SUPERIOR WITH INVITATION to attend Nationals in Orlando, Florida. We are beyond blessed to see her succeed her first try!!!
She and I will travel to Orlando July 30-August 4 to attend the NATIONAL YOUTH CONVENTION & FINE ARTS FESTIVAL and join in fellowship with other youth from across the country.
Fine Arts Festival is a discipleship tool of Assemblies of God Youth Ministries designed to help students discover, develop, and deploy their ministry gifts.
Beginning in September each year, over 65 thousand students begin preparing their entries for the district and National Fine Arts Festivals. Students may enter as many as 109 categories offered in nine main divisions: Art, Communication, Dance, Drama, Enterprise, Exhibition, Instrumental, Vocal, and Writing.
Ally started learning sign language as an infant with Zach and I using Baby Signs to help communicate with her. Later in kindergarten her teachers focused on more complex signs where she performed several songs with her fellow students at her kindergarten graduation. Now she has taken to the art with ease and is learning true American Sign Language. She is a natural signer and enjoys matching signs to the songs she hears on the radio. She feels she has a better understanding of the song as not every word is translated exactly, but more of an emotion. She enjoys she can communicate freely with those who are hearing impaired and hope to use it for her wanted profession of an Obstetrician some day.
Funds raised will help with airfare to Orlando, hotel stay and event participation for Ally and I. We will be attending the Youth Convention in addition to the Fine Arts Festival which will help further our faith in God and support our journey in His path.
