Channel 7 news had a story about two weeks ago, Carolyn Clifford interviewed the author Bill O Smith, who has written a book called 4 a.m. December 25th.  The book is about a family whose soldier is away from home and is coming home on Christmas morning.  The illustrator, Glenn Wolff, depicts the depth and warmth of the story through amazingly detailed art.

My family has made it our mission to bring this book to the men and women of the Selfridge Air National Guard Base.  The Guardsmen from Selfridge have gone on many deployments over the years, and have missed every imaginable holiday with their families.  This book is a way to show how they are missed, and how much the  soldier means to the ones they leave behind.

The back of the book reads

"Four a.m., December 25th -
A sparkling moment, a twinkle in time
when the gifts of the season arrive
in unexpected ways and unnamed places
around the world.

But one little girl
in Rivertown
knows that the gift she wants most
will never arrive
until the moment
a soldier comes home."

All of the proceeds from this book,
