Selena's Battle with Crohn’s Disease

Selena Pokharel has been battling crohn’s since July 2018.  Before crohn’s Selena was a very bright, happy young lady who would do anything to help anyone. She was very active in church and her community. During summer she was attending a church camp as a counselor and started struggling with stomach issues that at the end of camp brought her home. At that point she was hospitalized. They had found that she was suffering from Crohns at which they started treatment and she returned back to college in South Carolina. After two weeks into her semester she had a Crohns flair up which landed her back in the hospital. In order to get her back-home family needed okay to bring her back to her home state of Alabama. The drs who released her stated she was fine for travel long as she got back into a dr right away. But on the way home she had spiked a fever of 104 where again she was taken back to hospital in Arab Alabama and she was told she had septicemia. Arab decided the needed to do emergency surgery and put in a drain to get all the infection out. After her surgery they then decided she needed more help than they can offer so they sent her to Uab hospital. Upon arriving to Uab she again had to have emergency surgery due to her colon rupturing. She was then placed on the ICU floor because of her health being unstable. She keeps running fevers and now has a blood clot in her arm. Her mother can use as much help as possible from driving and missing so much work due to being with Selena. Please find it in your heart to help Selena and her mother. Small or whatever even if it’s a message of prayer goes along ways. Selena and her mother are doing all they can to stay afloat. God has been at their side even in the moments of darkness and they still are not giving up. All money will go towards helping with travel and keeping the family afloat and anything extra will go towards her medical bills, as medical bills will pile up with all the medical stays she has been having.
