Secondary School Costs

We have just moved to Melbourne and my daughter starts secondary school in January. We have received an email from the school stating that we need to pay for a mandatory laptop by the 4th of January which is $1100 and her books are $470.
It took us more than a month to find a place to rent so all the money I had saved went on motel accommodation whilst we looked for a place to live. I borrowed money for the bond and am now left with nothing. I have cut up my credit card as I could no longer afford to use it and still owe over $2500.
I don’t want my daughter to start school without the laptop and books she needs and the embarrassment it would cause.
Please help us. We would be forever grateful.
