Seaside Clean-Up Camp

On Tuesday, April 11, Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs) in Perlis, Malaysia will host an English camp called “Seaside Clean-up.” This one-day camp is designed to provide 100 students from 4 schools in Perlis (SMK Kuala Perlis, SMK Putra, SMK Syed Alwi, and SMK Syed Saffi) with an opportunity to improve their confidence in speaking conversational English, while simultaneously participating in an activity to clean a portion of the seaside in Kuala Perlis.

The goal of the clean-up is to bring awareness to the importance of taking care of the environment. Students will be introduced to different conservation efforts that they can adapt into their daily lives. We hope that this camp will foster student leaders who can inspire others in their community to take care of our environment.

In order to make this camp successful, we are asking you to consider donating $5US dollars to support our camp. The estimated cost for our camp is $500US dollars. One US dollar is equivalent to 4 Malaysian ringgit. A donation of $5 US dollars will help cover lunch, cleaning supplies (gloves/trash bags), and a participation certificate for one student.
