Sean's Surgery Expenses

Donation protected
No one knows the power of friendship better than someone who has gone through ups and downs and looks around to see a constant person there. My best friend, Joanna, and I have been friends since we were two years old. She and I went through elementary, middle, and high school together; then, we went on to college together. Throughout all of this time, we had our various life situations, but we always knew we had each other's backs. She's my sister!

When Joanna and Oliver got married and began their family, they became my family--my brother, my nephew, and my neices. Well, not long after having my nephew (the oldest child),  they found out that he had a heart condition that required immediate surgery...

My Sister's Story
My name is Joanna Crowell and I'm the mother of the sweetest 8 year old boy ever. From the very moment my husband and I found out that we were expecting, I always told people that Sean was covered under the blood of Jesus. I had a great pregnancy with him. It wasn't until an hour before we were scheduled to take our precious boy home, that we found out that Sean had a heart condition. At only a few days old, Sean was diagnosed with Left Ventricular Friboma and leaking valves; a very rare heart condition. Our child, whom God made so perfectly, had a sick little heart.

At the tender age of 6 months old, Sean was flown to Boston Children's Hospital for major open heart surgery. What doctors thought was one tumor ended up being five. Our little man had more tumor than he had heart. His doctors were amazed at the fact that he wasn't sick before surgery. The entire time, I told them that he's covered under the blood. Less than a year later, my family was devastated to learn that he had to have surgery again....in Boston. Both surgeries were difficult emotionally and financially. Now here we are at the sweet age of 8 and just received sudden heart breaking news. Sean is in need of an aortic valve replacement and other repairs. Because of his condition being so rare, we must travel to Boston again. Only this time as a family of 5 with Sean being the oldest and only boy.

The surgery requires a pre and post operation period of approximately 1 month combined in Boston. The surgery has been scheduled for late June.

The plane tickets and food costs will be a large burden for them. The funds raised here will be used to purchase the plane tickets for the family and food for them while in Boston. As well as help offset bill costs being incurred at home.

Any and all donations are welcomed and appreciated. Our goal is to purchase the plane tickets by April 25th.
