Seabrook Home Arson Recovery Fund
One of the worst calls you could ever recieve from your child is that your house is gone!
This was a surreal moment for us at 5:00 this morning, February 18, 2019. Luckily, our 15-year-old son Robert was able to get out of our burning home safely without harm or injury whatsoever. Just hearing his voice was all the relief we needed.
In the early morning hours while he was sleeping, our house began to burn from a fire set in the garage. Our Expedition was parked there, and we have been told that there was an explosion. We believe it may have been the gas tank of the car. The fire spread up through to the roof and across the house by way of the attic. At this point, we know the house is likely going to be a total loss. There is truly nothing left of our home.
At the time the authorities arrived on the scene and the fire heroes were extinguishing the flames from our home this morning, Jodi spoke with a deputy who informed us that two other fires had been set in Umatilla in the last 24 hours: one at the Old Crow Barbecue Restaurant and another at the Sunoco gas station. As of this afternoon, we know that our house is officially one of 5 total fires set by an arsonist who is currently at large. We know God will bring the person or persons responsible for this to justice, whether by human law or His very own.
Regardless of the justice of this horrible creature who destroyed our home, we are in need of certain basics. Then, as we sift through the remains and try to find a new home, we will eventually be in need of all new belongings. Insurance exists for this very reason, and prayer warriors are already on alert. But if you feel moved to contribute to our recovery fund, then we thank God AND you for our many blessings!
