$190.50: The number of hours Mae Jemison, the first black women in space, spent orbiting the earth
$500.00: Our lucky number!

Your support means a lot to us. We have grown from a small group of about 20 scientists to an organization with over 200 members! And we've accomplished a lot this past year, including:

-hosting monthly member meetings and social events
-participating in the March for Science
-hosting four events for our summer salon series
-co-hosting an event with Postdocs United on organized labor and equity in our science institutions
-helping to gather signatures for De-Escalate Washington
-submitting written comments supporting PSE's transition away from coal
-holding a retreat to train our future women scientist leaders and organize for the coming year
-participating in a workshop on how to handle difficult conversations over the holidays
-participating in the annual MLK March
-participating in the 2018 Womens' March
-hosting a panel for Womxn Act on Seattle on youth activism and women scientists

Many of these activities were only made possible through the support of our family, friends, and allies, who helped us in last year's fundraising efforts. Please consider supporting us this year so that we can continue to advocate for equity and justice in the sciences, increased scientific literacy through public engagement, engagement in science policy, and empowering women in science.
