Scouts for a better Venezuela
Hi, my name is Eskeiver Robles and I want to share with you the dream of twenty young Venezuelans, a dream which has become an aid project to help young people of our country.
As you know, Venezuela is currently undergoing a serious political, social and economic crisis due to the development of anti-values, a fact that has increased during the last few years. This, coupled with the lack of public morals and exemplary leaders, has triggered a series of unacceptable cultural faults in Venezuela, a country that is struggling to change its current reality, grow and reverse bad habits. We know that the future of our country is in the hands of young people; it's in our hands. However, many of our youth are becoming discouraged and are abandoning the idea of working for a better future for Venezuela. That is why we want to show them that the best ideas and opportunities have emerged in the framework of the world's worst crises.
The World Scout Movement, recognized by UNESCO, is a movement of children and youth with more than 30 million members across the world. Based on the scout promise, the scouts commit themselves freely and voluntarily to work on their own education, mentored by adults who contribute to educate women and men socially responsible for our homeland and humanity. In brief, the Scout Movement aim to improve society through the education of young critics, capable of living in community.
This is where we take action with your help and the help of other people around the world: In July, 20 young people belonging to the Scout Association of Venezuela will have a travel to Iceland. It is an event called "15th World Scout Moot Iceland 2017", where adults and young leaders of more than 100 countries will gather during some days.
If life changes after traveling abroad, imagine what it would be like to travel and meet four thousand people of different cultures, religions, customs and thinking. We are convinced that this cultural experience will help our 20 young Venezuelans to broaden their world view, to become leaders and to contribute to the formation of much more leaders of our country.
Once we start our travel, we will have the responsibility and the honor of representing our country. We are a country full of natural wonders and working people, willing to get ahead day to day. We are not a country in decadence! We are a country that is fighting to bring out its best!
How will we do it?
Returning from Iceland, we will be committed to contributing to the formation of our younger brothers scouts with the aim of making them leaders with global impact.
In this way, together with a foundation named "School of Leadership", which I have the privilege of presiding, we will conduct free informative workshops and leadership courses and conferences to young people of our country.
In these training workshops, we want to emphasize the importance of having dreams and life goals that allow people to have more conviction for the present and hope for the future.
Most of these twenty young Venezuelans have never had the opportunity to go overseas, much less to an incredible distant place. Without such a project, it would be difficult for them to live this kind of experiences. So, you have in your hands the possibility to provide aid to Venezuela in a long term, because if we want to help a country it is not enough simply to provide food, but to give people some tools and support in order for them to solve their own problems. And what better way to do this than through the training of Venezuelan leaders?

Hola, mi nombre es Eskeiver Robles y hoy te quiero compartir el sueño de veinte jóvenes Venezolanos. Un sueño que se ha convertido en un proyecto de ayuda para jóvenes de nuestro país.
Como ya sabes, Venezuela actualmente está pasando por una crisis política, social y económica, debido a la aparición de antivalores, que han ido ganando terreno a lo largo de los últimos años. A eso también le sumamos la falta buenas costumbres y de líderes ejemplares. Esto ha desencadenado una serie de fallas culturales inaceptables en un país que está luchando por cambiar su realidad actual, crecer, y darle un vuelco a todas estas malas costumbres. Entendemos que el futuro de nuestra nación está en nuestras manos como jóvenes en formación. Asimismo, muchos de nuestros grandes prospectos están cayendo en la desesperanza y desistiendo a la idea de un futuro mejor en Venezuela. No obstante, queremos enseñarles que, de las peores crisis a lo largo de la historia, han surgido las mejores ideas y oportunidades de crecer.
El Movimiento Scout, reconocido por la UNESCO y con más de 30 millones de miembros alrededor del mundo es un movimiento de niños y jóvenes que, con la Promesa Scout, adquieren un compromiso libre y voluntario de trabajar por su propia educación, orientados por adultos, que, con similar adhesión, se dedican a formar hombres y mujeres de bien para la patria y la humanidad toda. Tiene como meta la mejora de la sociedad, a través del desarrollo de jóvenes críticos, aptos y capaces de vivir en comunidad.
Es aquí, donde entramos nosotros, con su ayuda y la ayuda de muchas otras personas alrededor del mundo, en Julio veinte jóvenes pertenecientes a la Asociación de Scouts de Venezuela nos embarcaremos en un viaje a Islandia, a un evento, que se conoce con el nombre de 15th World Scout Moot Iceland 2017, donde se reunirán adultos y jóvenes líderes de más de 100 países.
Si ir al extranjero te cambia la perspectiva de la vida, imagínate ir al exterior acompañado de cuatro mil personas con diferentes culturas, religiones, costumbres y pensamientos. Tenemos la convicción de que esta experiencia cultural, acompañada de la correspondiente educación internacional, ayudará a nuestros 20 muchachos Venezolanos a ampliar su visión del mundo, a convertirse en líderes y a su vez, contribuir en la formación de muchos más líderes de nuestro país.
Una vez nos embarquemos en nuestro viaje, tendremos la responsabilidad y el gran honor de representar correctamente a nuestro país, y, demostrar de lo que realmente está hecha Venezuela. Somos un país, repleto de maravillas naturales y de personas trabajadoras, dispuestas a salir adelante día a día. ¡No somos un país en decadencia, somos un país que está luchando por sacar lo mejor de sí!
¿Cómo lo haremos?
Al regresar, tendremos el compromiso de ayudar en la formación de los nuestros hermanos menores con el objetivo que se conviertan en líderes de impacto global.
Ante esto, en conjunto a una fundación llamada “Escuela de Líderes”, (la cual tengo el privilegio de presidir), brindaremos talleres formativos, cursos y conferencias de liderazgo gratuitos a jóvenes que de no ser por esta oportunidad no estarían en condición económica de cubrir los gastos que implica este tipo de Educación.
En estos talleres formativos, se resalta la importancia de los sueños y de tener un propósito en la vida, que nos lleve a tener mayor convicción en el presente y esperanza en el futuro.
La mayoría de estos veinte jóvenes nunca han tenido la oportunidad de salir de nuestro territorio, mucho menos a un lugar tan increíblemente lejano y que de no ser por esta forma, difícilmente se verían expuestos ante este tipo de experiencias. Considero que tienes en tus manos la oportunidad de ayudar a Venezuela en el largo plazo, puesto que, si se quiere ayudar a un país, no sólo basta con darle de comer, sino de dotarlo de la capacidad necesaria para que resuelva sus propios problemas. ¿Y qué mejor forma de hacerlo que a través de la formación de sus propios líderes?
