Scott Marraffa's ANW Journey

Scott Marraffa is a 22 yr old young man who has Cystic Fibrosis and will be competing on American Ninja Warrior Season 9.
Scott was born in Beverly, MA and has lived in Beverly, Biddeford, ME, and Livermore Falls, ME.   Scott was diagnosed at birth with CF, and had his first 2 week hospital stay right away at Tufts NEMC  in Boston, MA.   Growing up Scott was in and out of the hospital every 3 months for 2-3 weeks at a time, as he got older the hospital stays got shorter as they would send him home doing his IV treatment with visiting nurses.  Scott ended up having an extreme allergic reaction to an IV med that he had gotten many times before, and that is when the Dr's told him with meds not working anymore they were sure he was on his downward spiral. So he made a Bucketlist and started it by going SkyDiving at 13 yrs old. He also went to Disney World with his Family. 
Scott has alot of GI issues along with the lung issues with the CF and was always missing tons of school. Thankfully, he had a wonderful tutor from 6th grade till he graduated High School that kept him on track.  After Graduation, Scott decided he wanted more in life, he wasn't going to let CF define him and run his life, so he did the opposite of what Drs have always told him growing up, he went out and got a gym membership and started working out and eating healthy and learning how to work out correctly to gain weight he needed, not lose it.  Scott started as the little skinny kid at 120lbs and now looks great at 145lbs. Scott found a ninja gym down in Danvers, MA while visiting family and loved it so much, he was going as much as he could. He picked it up quick as he watched everyone and tried things out for himself and after awhile was offered a job at Gymja. Scott has met so many new friends from the Gymja gym and got to meet one of his idols from ANW while getting his Parkour Certification there. He has also done  a few competitions around New England and won in 2 of them. Scott's dream is to be on American Ninja Warrior, so he submitted his application and 3 min video of him in action and got the call on Sat. April 1st saying he was accepted to do the show.   Scott now needs to raise funds to travel and stay out in Cleveland Ohio.   He will be traveling out there May 5th and traveling home May 10th.  If Scott passes this stage he will then move on to Vegas!   The Ohio taping will air in mid-late June, if he makes it to Vegas, we will NOT be allowed to tell anyone as it will be before the Ohio part airs on TV.
