Scott Durocher Family Medical Expenses

Scott Durocher and his family had an unexpected medical curveball thrown at them in early August. Scott has been in the hospital since then with serious intestinal problems.
He’s currently at Ascension Hospital in Wisconsin, near where the family was enjoying time together at the cabin when this all happened. They’re trying to transfer to the Mayo Clinic in coming days. Scott will have to miss at least the first month of teaching at Eastview High School.
This comes after Scott’s 11 surgeries over the course of 14 years, which have taken a toll on his body and the family’s finances.
Scott is in need of a specialized therapeutic exercise bike/cross-trainer to strengthen his legs, which have been weakened from spasticity likely caused by nerve damage from chemotherapy.

With this month’s medical challenges, the bike is out of the picture— unless we can rally to help them!
The bike will cost an estimated $4,500, after taxes and shipping. 90% of any money raised beyond that will help cover the unanticipated costs facing the Durochers right now: fuel, lodging, childcare, bills not covered by insurance, etc. The remaining 10% the Durochers feel compelled to donate to a charity of their choice, to pay forward the kindness we’ll be showing them.
My name is Becca Habegger, EVHS class of ‘05, and both Scott and Kymm profoundly shaped my life for the better. I know I am not alone in that boat.
Whether they’re a friend, colleague, mentor, family member— or some combination of those, Scott & Kymm Durocher have had a positive impact on so many lives.
With the Durochers’ blessing, I am helping to organize this fundraising campaign to give back just a fraction of the unquantifiable GOOD these two have put into the world through their generosity, passion and love.
Let’s show them what a community can do when we rally to help one of our members!
