Schroeder Family Benefit

Hello everyone! This is the Schroeder family here. As some of you know and some don’t, Shawn Schroeder (the loving father in our family) was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in March of 2018. We were in shock.  A month or so later, Shawn started a long process of chemotherapy and radiation for nearly a year. He even got surgery for a colostomy bag to help for some of his rectal pain. This was so brutal to his body and he was bed-ridden, and could no longer work. Meanwhile, Carrie (Shawn's wife and loving mother) had her job eliminated from ABC TV in Tampa and is needed at home to be the primary caretaker.

A few months ago, the doctors said that chemo and radiation are not going to work anymore. They said the cancer was too harsh and was uncontrollably spreading. So, Shawn decided to stop treatment. At this point we have decided to enter into hospice care in order to maximize the quality of life for Shawn. 

MIXERS Bar and Grill in Oldsmar, FL has kindly offered to have a fundraiser benefiting our family THIS WEEKEND! They are “Mixing it up for a cause!” This will run Friday-Sunday with a performance by Kyle Schroeder (Shawn and Carrie's son) Saturday night 7-10pm!

This GoFundMe is being started to coincide with the efforts of Mixers Bar and Grill as we have received an overwhelming amount of interest from people who want to support our cause and who are not able to attend this weekend or live elsewhere. We are using this platform to accept donations for outstanding medical bills, family living costs and future educational obligations for the kids (i.e. high school and college costs). We appreciate all the kindness, love, and prayers from our family and friends!
