School Supplies for Youth on Reservations 2019

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit youth on the reservations. This is our annual drive for school supplies. We are collecting/buying now. We will be packaging them through mid to late June. The distribution of backpacks filled with school supplies will begin with the Pine Ridge Reservation at a youth rally on Wounded Knee School District grounds led by First Youth Nations at the end of July (Last weekend).  We hope to be able to fill 300 backpacks this year for Pine Ridge and other reservations as we have the resources to provide. 

Early this year, we got a great deal on backpacks. We purchased them at under $1 each. We have all that we need at this time.

We have received other donations in-kind and presently have the following needs with the estimated best price we could find. Unless it says free or no shipping, shipping costs have not been included:

181 3 ring pencil pouches (best price I found is .88 ea.) (free shipping)

30 packs of 24-colors crayons (best price I found is .63 ea.)

3132 pre-sharpened #2 pencils with erasers (or 261 packs of 12 pre-sharpened) (best price I found is .78 per 12 pack)

180 glue sticks (appx 7 g) (best price is .23 ea.)

400 pink (pearl) erasers (best price is .17 ea.)

1110 blue ink ballpoint pens (best price is .04 ea. No shipping)

840 red ink ballpoint pens (.14 ea.) free shipping

270 pencil sharpeners With cap or lid so no spills (.10 ea. No shipping)

724 highlighters (at least 3 diff. colors) (.36 ea) no shipping

All wide ruled notebook paper received

All college ruled notebook paper received

All spiral bound 1 subject wide ruled received

370 wide ruled composition notebook (.78 ea)

540 1" binder hard cover for 8.5x11 paper (1.29 ea)
