on behalf of Deborah K. Schober
On January 21, Dave Schober went outside on that unseasonably warm Saturday and, like the doer he is, set about removing a dead branch from one of his oaks. Tragically, something went terribly wrong and he was severely injured.

At this writing, he is at Condell Advocate Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois. The emotional burden of this horrible accident on Dave's wife, Debbie, and their daughters Emily and Courtney, is immense. Compound that with the financial uncertainty this has created and the weight on Debbie borders on the overwhelming.

Hence, this site. Thanks for any help you can give.

As of 10:00 p.m. on February 15, 318 people have opened their hearts, wallets, and purses to raise $27, assist Debbie, Emily, and Courtney as they navigate an uncertain world without their husband and father. That's an average of over $1300 per day and over $86 per person.

Deb has requested that the following be sent to all who contributed over the past 21 days.

To all those who graciously and generously donated to the Schober Family Fundraiser on GoFundMe:

We cannot thank you enough for your support during this most difficult time. While it is very hard to express our gratitude in words, we can honestly say that we are absolutely humbled by the actions and generosity of so many and we are so proud to see how many lives that Dave has touched during his short time with us.

Thank you to all who have reached out to us, your support (whether it be financial, emotional or some other way) reassures us that we will be just fine. It'll be one day at a time for a while here, but we will make it through this by virtue of all of you.

Please keep praying for the girls...

Deb, Emily and Courtney

Dave passed this afternoon.

He did so on his terms and on his I think anyone who knew him at all would've expected.

While I don't in any way want to make this about me (after all, I'm just a co-worker), I do want to thank you all for opening your hearts, wallets, and purses to help Debbie, Emily, and Courtney. To see such an incredible outpouring of good wishes and charity on this page...has been breathtaking.

With Dave having now moved on from this world to the next - where the fish are always biting, the bucks plentiful, the snow firm and fast, and, well, everything else is as Dave would have it in his paradise - please keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing to those he had to leave behind.

And if you're able, willing, and haven't already, please consider making a donation of any size...and thus allow Debbie to keep her sole focus on her children in the days and weeks ahead.

Thanks so much for your generosity.
