Wayne is a US Army veteran who has been fighting with the VA for months now to look into the lump in his throat. Only after Wayne got a deferment to a civilian doctor did the civilian doctor find the lump may be cancerous. They have finally performed the necessary tests and Wayne has been diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes, back of tongue and epiglottis. He will be starting treatment on April 24th, and it will last well into the summer. The VA has decided to start Wayne on Chemo therapy with radiation as well.

Wayne is a school bus driver in his home town of Fort Smith Arkansas. Listening to him talk about field trips with his "kids" makes it evident that Wayne really loves his job and the time he gets to spend with them. Due to his cancer diagnosis and the treatments involved, he now faces the heavy burden of a lengthy unemployment, coupled with the possibility of extensive time away from home.

Since I’ve known Wayne I’d say his biggest passion is photography. He absolutely loves trains and taking photographs of them. Wayne runs several Facebook pages dedicated to trains, and post pictures on a daily basis. The photographs are not only his, but great photographs of times gone by as well.

Wayne is also a HUGE supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and has traveled the state to help document the progress of Act 746 from 2013. Any help that you could spare for this patriot in his time of need would be a blessing for him. Thank you from the friends of Wayne Helms, and Patriots of Act 746.
